Cookie Policy
Last updated: July 1, 2026
This Cookie Policy explains how RealReels ("we", "us") uses cookies, local storage, and similar technologies when you visit or use our website and progressive web app (the "Service"). It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy.
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device by websites you visit. "Similar technologies" include browser localStorage, sessionStorage, IndexedDB, service workers, and pixel tags. We use all of these to make the Service work, remember your preferences, and understand how the app is used.
2. Categories of cookies we use
Strictly necessary. Required for the Service to function. These include your authentication session, CSRF protection, load balancing, and Stripe checkout session identifiers. The Service will not work without them and they cannot be disabled.
Functional. Remember choices you make, such as theme, install-prompt dismissal (rr:ios-install-hint-shown), and in-progress generation state so you can navigate away and return.
Performance & diagnostics. Help us measure errors, latency, and generation success so we can improve reliability. These do not identify you personally.
Payments. Stripe sets cookies during checkout to prevent fraud and complete transactions. See Stripe's cookie policy.
3. Specific storage keys we set
The Service stores the following on your device:
sb-*-auth-token— your authenticated session (necessary).rr:ios-install-hint-shown— suppresses the iOS install hint for the current session (functional).- Stripe cookies (
__stripe_mid,__stripe_sid) — fraud prevention during checkout. - Service worker caches — offline shell and static assets for the PWA.
4. Third parties that may set cookies
Some cookies are set by third parties we rely on to deliver the Service:
- Stripe — payments and fraud prevention.
- Supabase — authentication and session storage (our backend infrastructure).
- Google — only if you choose "Sign in with Google".
We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
5. How long cookies stay on your device
Session cookies are cleared when you close your browser. Persistent cookies remain until they expire or you delete them; our authentication session persists for up to one year unless you sign out.
6. Managing and disabling cookies
You can control cookies through your browser settings — most browsers let you block or delete cookies per site. You can also clear the Service's local storage from your browser's developer tools or "Site settings" panel.
Blocking strictly necessary cookies will sign you out and prevent checkout and generation from working. Blocking functional cookies will reset your preferences on every visit.
To uninstall the PWA and clear its service-worker caches, remove the app from your home screen (mobile) or use "Uninstall" in your browser (desktop).
7. Do Not Track
The Service does not respond to browser "Do Not Track" signals because there is no common industry standard for how to interpret them. We do not sell personal data or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, by notifying you in the app.
